Optima Hybrid 2016 - Kia Motors America will release a new version of it, the latest Kia will focus more on luxury and comfort of a sedan in 2016.
Most of the changes made by Kia is very smooth. Unlike that have been released previously in the New York Auto Show (like the new look chiseled Lexus RX crossovers), mostly Optima modifications to trace and trim package.
"The Optima all-new retaining personality signature of his predecessor, but we've really improved and luxurious of all, provide more space, better handling, technology and greater improvements," said Michael Sprague, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Kia Motors America.
What did not accompany the refreshed Optima is any update on the Hybrid Optima or the mention of a plug-in version that will come.
It is expected, however, that the Optima will continue to follow the path set by the Hyundai Sonata closely related - Optima has borrowed Sonata platform and run the same powertrain. After conventional released Sonata, the Sonata Hybrid comes afterward, followed by a plug-in version.
Optima Hybrid is currently in production in the second, so it is likely that the version of the plug-in will be on the road soon.
We reached out to Kia to know more, but a spokesman said there is currently no good update or potential Optima Hybrid plug-in.

has added 0.4 inches to the length of the car, while widening the car by an inch. This gives the new Optima a wheelbase of 110.4 inches and width of 73.2 inches.
Three trim options have also been added. In addition to the currently available LX and EX, Kia SX delete option and adding in the Turbo LX, SX and SXL Turbo trim package.
Available with the new HID headlights are optional Dynamic Bending Lights, which helps illuminate the road around the corner, and High Beam Assist for automatic switching between high and low beam lights.
Kia did not announce which of the design elements will transfer to the 2016 Optima Hybrid, which currently sports a unique front end that includes exclusive front LED lighting. Only two options are available on the 2015 Optima Hybrid: LX or EX.
